小児がん患者・家族を支える活動支援

日本の営業部のDistrict7のメンバーが、素晴らしいボランティア活動に取り組んでいただいたので、ご報告させていただきます。

日本では年間約2,000人の子どもが新たに小児がんと診断されています。子どものがんは、成長していく過程で起こることから、子ども自身だけでなくその家族にも大きな影響を与え、長期にわたる療養や経済的な負担、治療後の心の傷、周囲の理解の不足など、さまざまな悩みや負担が存在します。

公益財団法人「がんの子どもを守る会」では、小児がんや小児難病と闘う子どもやその家族に寄り添う総合支援センターを運営し、精神的な支援や経済的な援助を行っています。詳細はこちらのウェブサイトをご覧ください

今回、District7のメンバーは、総合支援センターの役割の一環として、遠方の病院で治療を受ける必要がある患児とその家族に対し、長期間安価に滞在できる宿泊施設の提供に従事しました。

彼らは、宿泊施設の清掃や消毒など、利用者の方々が快適に治療に専念できる環境づくりに取り組みました。

特に、小児がんで体力の衰えた子どもたちが利用する施設であることを考慮し、チーム全体で一生懸命働いたそうです。

この活動に対して、「公益財団法人 がんの子どもを守る会」様から、御礼状がASP Japanに届きました。

その内容には、ご家族から「子供たちとご家族の皆様が安心して過ごせた」といううれしいメッセージが書かれていました。心から本当に素晴らしい活動だと感じました。

ASP Japanはこれからも、少しずつでも社会への貢献を続けていきたいと考えています。
あらためて、District7のメンバーの皆様に心から感謝申し上げます。

I hope you're doing well. I would like to report on the wonderful volunteer activities undertaken by the members of District7 in Japan Sales Team.

In Japan, approximately 2,000 children are diagnosed with pediatric cancer each year. Pediatric cancer not only affects the physical and mental well-being of children but also has a significant impact on their families' lives, including long-term treatment, financial burdens, emotional scars after treatment, and the challenges of being understood by others.

The Children‘s Cancer Association of Japan, a public interest incorporated foundation, operates a comprehensive support center that provides assistance to children and families fighting pediatric cancer and other pediatric rare diseases. They offer mental and financial support.

As part of their role in the support center, the members of District7 dedicated themselves to supporting a project that provides affordable and long-term accommodation for children with illnesses and their families who are forced to travel far from home for treatment.

Their support involved cleaning and disinfecting the accommodation facilities, with the utmost care and dedication, knowing that they would be used by children battling pediatric cancer.

As a token of appreciation for their efforts, ASP Japan received a letter of gratitude from the Children‘s Cancer Association of Japan.

The letter expressed the joyous message from the families, stating that "both the children and their families were able to spend their time with peace of mind." It truly is a remarkable endeavor.

ASP Japan aims to continue contributing to society, even if it's in small ways.
